First Days of School

We jumped right into our Readers Workshop in the first few days of school.  Our kindergartners are already taking care of books, exploring stories in sequence, and conveying their favorite parts of fiction and non-fiction books.

In addition to Readers Workshop, we began Writers Workshop.  We are all writers and writers have stories to tell and things to teach!  That is the first thing we explore in our kindergarten writing, along with adding our name, date and word labels to our stories.  As the year goes on, we'll explore genres and the process of writing.

The first weeks of school are all about routine and getting used to our schedule.  Days may feel tiring for the students as they adjust to our full and wonderful days!

And of course we get to explore through play.  Here one of our students explores cause and effect with dominoes in a quick gif video.

Maybe next we can work on building a domino train across the room... then down the hallway!  More to come this week!

Just Around the Corner

The last few weeks were busy as our kindergarten classroom started to come together.  Here's how Room 413 looked like a week ago:

But now it's all coming together...

Now there is just one thing missing...

YOU!!
Welcome to Kindergarten!  See you soon...
