Our Community Comes Together

What a wonderful community of learners we have this year!

We started Writers' Workshop this week with "Talk Time--" opportunities for children to orally tell stories to their writing partner.  After looking at the books in the book corner, we talked about how writers often tell their stories out loud and visualize their stories before putting them to paper.  We then began sketching out our stories.

We began exploring our book bins and reading as well.
Exploring the Guided Reading bins

Reading to fuzzy friends

An important part of our day is PLAY!

Beading patterns
Creating community murals
Exploring balance through structures

Building rovers and cars
More beading!
And beading our names

Loving the fresh air
We look forward to another great week as September starts.  But first our Pete the Cat results... which book did we like best?
So far it looks like Too Cool for School was the favorite.  Here is a cute short video to help your student celebrate the end of Pete the Cat week!
