Pieces of Peace

We thought a great deal about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today.  We read the wonderful story Martin's Big Words by Doreen Rappaport.

We brainstormed how we can stand up for what is fair, and how we can act peaceful.  The children created "pieces of peace" to reflect how they see themselves acting as peacemakers.

I help my mom and dad.

By standing up for others.

Listening.

Telling mom "I broke something--" taking responsibility

I help the turtle walk.

I am going to pray.

I am quiet in chapel.

Use your words.

I will save the world.

I pray.

I pick up my toys.

Listen.

Talk to friends.

Wish that everyone will have a nice life.
