Statue of Liberty

We began our study of American symbols this week with the story The Statue of Liberty by Betsy and Giulio Maestro.  We learned that the statue was built not once, but twice--once in France, then taken apart to be shipped and put back together in America.

Then it was our turn to create our own Lady Liberty portraits.  They turned out beautifully, with everyone adding their own personality to the portrait!
