At the close of the week, we branched out into symmetry. We explored pictures of insects and animals and thought about symmetry in nature. We discussed how to use lines of symmetry as well.
In our math workshop, some children built symmetrical block structures on the ipad...
and some worked in partners playing match, where one child created an image on one side, and their partner created a symmetrical image. The goal was to see the line of symmetry, and make it symmetrical rather than merely copying.
