Fun at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts

We saw many wonderful pieces of art at the MIA this week.  We had a class tour of various pieces from different continents that featured animals from the different groups we have studied this year--insects, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds.

Greek eagle sculpture from Europe

Thank you to our volunteers!

Camels from Asia

Japanese armor featuring a praying mantis on the helmet

Silk with peacocks and eagles from Japan

Wooden sculpture from Africa featuring a snake
We will continue to think about our animal groups and the importance of art from our continents as the year winds down!

And one of our kindergartners found his favorite American figure!
