Writing Partners

The students continued to write and share their stories this week in Writers Workshop.  We read one of a series by Mercer Mayer, A Boy, A Dog and A Frog to help understand how stories can be told across pages--even without words!  The series is delightful and whimsical and encourages us to look for picture clues we read.

The students also shared with their writing partners this week.  The act of telling a story to a peer sometimes reminds children of other features or parts they want to add, and so after sharing they are excited to keep writing!  We encourage the children to sit "EEKK," elbow to elbow and knee to knee. We also encourage them that as one partner shares a story, the other shows active listening by holding the story with the author.

Great job writers!
